Ifeoluwa Odeniyi, nutritional sciences graduate student in the College of Human Sciences, was recently presented with two prestigious awards including the Inclusive Excellence Award from the Office of Inclusion and Diversity at the Second Annual State of Inclusion and Diversity on April 20. In addition, Odeniyi was named a Student Leader of the Year at the 11th Annual Involvement Awards in a ceremony hosted by Auburn University Student Involvement that honors exceptional organizations, student leaders, and advisors on campus.
Odeniyi, who serves as the president of the African Students Association, was one of six recipients for the Inclusive Excellence Award as he has proven to be a leader across campus for championing diversity, equity and inclusion. Odeniyi, along with other recipients, have demonstrated a commitment based on a combination of the merit of their initiatives, publications, presentations, research, teaching and service at Auburn and beyond.
In addition, Odeniyi, along with four other students, was selected as Student Leader of the Year out of more than 550 student organization leaders. This highly esteemed award is presented to students who best demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities and represents the pinnacle of recognition. The award celebrates their remarkable achievements in enhancing the student experience, empowering peers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and showcasing their unwavering commitment to driving positive change within the vibrant academic community.
