Early Child Development Application
Internships in the area of Early Child Development involve working directly with or for the benefit of children approximately 6 years of age and younger. Internship possibilities include preschool/daycare teaching, administration of early childhood programs, day care licensing, training, and consulting. Daycare-based internships must be in programs that are accredited or in the process of accreditation through NAEYC, NAC, NECPA or similar organizations.

Family Life Education Application
Internships in the area of Family Life Education involve applying research-based knowledge to develop, implement and/or evaluate community-based programs designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families. Completion of this concentration meets the minimum course requirements for provisional certification as a Family Life Educator (FLE) through the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). Some examples of internship possibilities include working with faculty research projects, cooperative extension agents, community mental health programs, family resource centers, advocacy organizations, or political actions groups, to name a few.
