The Directed Study in Córdoba, Spain offers students the chance to enhance their Spanish skills while gaining experience in teaching English and Human Development and Family Sciences. Partnering with a local school, Colegio Alauda, participants live and work in a structured environment, immersing themselves in Spanish language and culture. This program not only benefits Auburn students' bilingual proficiency but also contributes to the education of a new generation, enhancing their earning potential in the job market.
Located in southern Spain, Córdoba’s rich history makes it an ideal destination to study abroad. It was an important cultural and economic center during the Roman Empire and was also a significant city during the Islamic Golden Age. The Mezquita, a mosque-cathedral that dates back to the 8th century, is a major tourist attraction in Córdoba.
Undergraduate students will earn 12 credit hours through the program. This program has a focus on Human Development and Family Science, but it is open to students of all majors. If interested, please contact the Office of Global Education at Room 334 in Spidle Hall or by email at chsgs@auburn.edu, and we can connect you with the faculty director for further program credit information.
