Sara González is a lecturer in the Office of Global Education in the College of Human Sciences. In 2016, she graduated from Auburn with a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Horticulture with a minor in Hunger Studies. As an undergraduate student, she studied abroad in Fiji, South Africa, and Cuba, and she supported program evaluations for a nonprofit in Ecuador and for the UN World Food Programme. Prior to returning to Auburn, Sara worked as a project manager for a strategic communications team in Nashville, TN. In 2019, she returned to Auburn to pursue her Ph.D. in Community Nutrition with certificates in health equity and program evaluation. Sara is a Truman Scholarship Finalist and recipient of the Harry Merriwether Fellowship. Her research focuses on resources, programs, and policies to support college students experiencing food insecurity.
