STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Sarah Willis Senior
Hi everyone, my name is Sarah Willis and I am a senior in Global Studies, soon to be in the Masters of Development Practice program here at Auburn. I first came to Auburn undecided but quickly landed on Global Studies as the perfect major for me. I have always wanted to do something internationally oriented and being a global studies student has helped me hone in on what field speaks to me specifically. As I have advanced in the major, I have discovered a passion for development and international justice and plan to pursue that further in my master's degree.

In my time in Global Studies, I have had leadership and research opportunities that I would not have been afforded otherwise. I studied abroad in Italy through the Joseph S. Bruno program where I completed my internship, I serve as the president of the ONE Campaign, a global nonprofit campaigning to end extreme poverty and preventable disease and have even helped research for a book all because of connections I made in the Global Studies major. After I finish school, I want to work for the U.S. Agency for International Development or an international NGO.
